Jacqueline K. Houchin, 86, passed away July 18th, 2015. She was born February 1st, 1929 in Union City, New Jersey, to Doris and Jack Koellisch. Our mother wished to be immortalized by the entrance of three grand miracles in her life, Julia, Michael, and John. Her words were “What more could you have in a lifetime”. Jackie found a jewel inside herself, her God-given art talent. She pursued a successful and professional art career with a determined passion and was best known for her portraits, with some being enjoyed worldwide. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Houchin. Jackie is survived by her three children, Julia Poole, Michael Houchin, and John Houchin. Jackie is also survived by her four grandchildren; Matthew, Christopher, John Daniel and Erin; and her four great grandchildren. She was blessed to know her son-in-law, Earl Poole for 45 years; Maria Houchin for 30 years and Gayle Houchin for 35 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Jackie Houchin’s name to honor her as she was a very charitable person all of her life. Mom had a few favorite sayings, “God is with me, and I am with God”, ever so true now; and her passion for life was expressed often in her shouting “YAHOO!!”.
