Foglesong, Jake Wendell A long time resident of New Mexico, Jake Wendell Foglesong, passed away on the morning of September 23, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mildred; their two sons, Robert S. Foglesong of Albuquerque, and James W. Foglesong; his grandson, Andrew J. Foglesong of Carson City, NV; his brother, Clayton Foglesong from Quincy, WA; his sister, Eleanor Goodin of Mercer County, MO. He was the third of ten children born to John M. and Nora O. Foglesong. He was born on a farm in Putnam County, MO, on May 20, 1920. After high school, he joined the Marines before the break out of WWII. He saw action in the South Pacific from early 1943 to early 1945. He moved his family to Los Alamos, NM in 1953. He retired from Los Alamos National Labs in 1983 as an engineering technician. He was a dedicated family man, who enjoyed down hill and cross country skiing as well as square dancing, in addition to many other activities. He was always a hardworking and dedicated perfectionist in all that he attempted, he was very quiet, modest and generous. He will be sorrowfully missed.
