James "Superman Jimmy" Butler

April 1, 1949 — March 3, 2021

Sometimes our plans and God's plans don't always coincide.

It is with great sadness that we announce that Superman Jimmy made his final flight home to see his mom and dad and the rest of his relatives and friends on March 3, 2021.

Their joy and reunion are our great sadness and loss.

Our hearts are broken as Jimmy was one of the true angels walking on this Earth.  His journey was one to uplift and show others that life is for living, loving, and laughing. Oh, and dancing.  How he loved to dance!  He was adored by so many and his beautiful smile and infectious spirt will be greatly missed by all that knew him well.  Everybody loved Jimmy.  He touched so very many souls in his 71 years on this planet.

Fly High Superman!  No one on this planet has given me such pleasure and helped me learn so much as you my sweet brother.  Every day I will look for you as you soar over our Earth blessing us all and giving us that fantastic smile of yours.  I will see the twinkle of your beautiful blue eyes in every star, and your amazing heart in every flower, tree, and bird I see.

We will meet again someday dear brother.  I love you with all my heart!  Thank you for all the love you have given to me, and all that you have taught me and so many others.  Lessons I could never have hoped to learn without you by my side.

I will truly miss hearing you say....."I wuv you DiAnn."

FLY SUPERMAN FLY!

Jimmy is survived by his sister and guardian DiAnn Walkinshaw, brothers Larry Butler, Mark Butler and nephews Corey Walkinshaw, Justin Walkinshaw, Keith Butler, and Brian Butler.  He is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews.

A private ceremony will be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Arc of New Mexico.  Their website is: https://www.arcnm.org/

Thank you all for your outpouring of love at this very difficult time.  You are all very much appreciated.
