Campbell, James Craig Age 58, passed away at home on Saturday evening, August 18, 2012. Jim (J.C.) was born in Franklin, PA on July 7, 1954, to Donald E. and Norma G. (Fulkerson) Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents and he is survived by his daughter, Heather Campbell and grandson, Kayden of Cottonwood Heights, UT; daughter, Amanda Campbell of Midvale, UT; sister, Cathy (Kasi) Campbell of Ellicot City, MD; and his fiancee, Mary Templeton of Socorro, NM. Jim retired from the Air Force in 1993 as a master sergeant where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for establishing the Air Force''s only European-based solar observatory at San Vito Dei Normanni Air Station in Italy. He came to Socorro in 1999 as a Very Large Array Radio Telescope operator for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. Jim played guitar and bass in several of Socorro''s bands(the Cowboy Way, Without a Drought, the Rhythm Prophets, and the Decanters). He loved debating the world''s problems with friends at the M Mountain Coffee Shop, playing golf and working crossword puzzles with Mary, well concocted puns and pie. His many friends will miss him. Jim''s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, at 3:30 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro with Rev. Ruben Thomas officiating.
