James C. Engelbrecht, 75, of Bloomfield, died on Monday, May 16, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Westcliffe, Colo., to Milton and Edith (Armstrong) Engelbrecht. Jim served in the U.S. Army as a truck driver. He worked for U.S. Enertek for 38 years, where he logged three million miles on the road. Jim put himself through private flying school and received his pilot¹s license in 1977. He owned a single-engine taildragger. Jim was happiest when he was flying. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wives, Hope Ann and Judith A. He is survived by his children, James C. Engelbrecht Jr., Bridgett (Wendell)Blackburg and Steve Rush; grandchildren, Kathleen Witt, Ryan Blackburg, Brennan Johnson, Mallory Taylor Rush; and great-grandchild, Damon Mueller. Jim will be greatly missed. Cremation will take place and memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington.
