James Franklin (Jim) Pullen

83, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born in Antlers, OK on January 11, 1932 to James Henry and Lucille (Moyer) Pullen. He grew up on a Navajo Reservation near Gallup. In January of 1951, Jim enlisted with the United States Navy. He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in November, 1954. Jim was  a jack of all trades, a hard working man who was a devoted husband and father. He was a banker at Albuquerque National Bank for 14 years and then ventured into becoming Owner / Operator of the Largo Motel and Restaurant in Quemado. In 1990, Jim and Dorothy moved and settled in Lemitar. Jim also served as an Insurance Agent in Socorro and Catron Counties until his retirement in 1994. Jim loved to hunt, ride horseback, and pack into the wilderness. Jim and Dorothy loved to travel together and were well experienced in  all things RV. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Ruth Ann Pullen, just this year. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Christensen) Pullen; his loving daughters, Terry Trantham and husband, James; Beverly Duncan and husband, Jack; and Barbara Harris and husband, Eddie; his nieces, nephews and many close friends. Jim will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 am at The First Baptist Church, 203 Spring Street, Socorro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and donations may be given in Jim's honor to The First Baptist Church, PO Box 1126, Socorro, NM 87801.
