James C. Harrelson

October 10, 1923 — September 1, 2012

Age 88 passed away September 1, 2012. Jim was born in Gunn, Mississippi October 10, 1923, but his family moved to New Mexico to find work during the depression. He graduated from Las Cruces High School and New Mexico State University. As a WWII veteran, he flew in 21 B-17 sorties over Germany. His lifelong admiration of the outdoors was evidenced by his BLM and Farm Credit career choices and expertise in hunting and fishing. Our Dad��?�s legacy of strength and love will never be forgotten. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nettie of 58 years; three children ��?? Ann Echols of Santa Fe, NM, Jean Tamura and husband Henry of Albuquerque, Colt Harrelson and wife Debbie of Ruidoso, NM; six grandchildren ��?? Kelly Baker (Ken), Lance Echols (Windy), Casey and Jessie Stephens, Jake and Andi Harrelson; three great grandchildren - Bryce and Breann Baker and Evan Echols; one brother ��?? Pat Harrelson (Bev); many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services- Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, on September 16, 2012 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim��?�s name to benefit a first time elk hunt for youth without means. Please mail to: SCI - P.O. Box 1922 - Roswell, NM 88202.
