James A. Hyde

James Arthur Hyde, 76, passed away on August 5th, 2012 at his home in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on August 9, 1935 in Paton, Iowa to Raymond and Iola (JOHNSON) HYDE. James grew up and received his education in Iowa. He graduated from Lake Center in Iowa in 1955. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served 4 years. Started his training at the U.S. Navy Journalism School, Great Lakes Naval Base in Journalism, Photography and Radio. He served aboard the USS Newport News, USS Rockbridge, USS Spearfish and the USS Forrestal , then was assigned to the Pentagon. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He was Honorably Discharged in 1959, achieving the rank of JO3 (E-4). James worked for Marriott as a GM where he worked for 35 years. James married Marie Helen (FLACK) in 1955 in Dickens, Iowa. They were happily married for 57 years. He enjoyed Sight seeing trips, traveling, boating, fishing, gardening and watching the old black and white westerns on TV. James Hyde was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Iola HYDE, 1 brother, Wayne and 2 sisters Ella Mae and Lois. James is survived by his spouse, Marie of Albuquerque, NM. His 3 sons, Jeffrey and Martha (Mellenbruch) Hyde of Eagan, MN. Raymond and Christine (Carson) Hyde of Albuquerque, NM. and Daniel and Susan (Nielsen) Hyde of Sandia Park, NM. His 7 grandchildren Timothy, Matthew, Lisa Marie of MN, James William and Jacqueline Marie (Cates) Hyde of Waco, TX. Ashlee and Harold Pfleiderer of Waco, TX. Jessica and Jeremy Gill of Albuquerque, NM and Raymond "Austin Hyde III. His 3 great-grandchildren Keegan, William, Olivia Hyde of Waco, TX and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.
