James Jim"" Alan Thomas

James Alan "Jim" Thomas Jim Thomas passed away December 3, 2009. He was born in Casper Wyoming, October 21, 1953, to William Henry Thomas and Elizabeth Helen (Stockwell) Thomas. Jim was a resident of Farmington, New Mexico since 1961. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 1976. Jim was an avid train hobbyist, enjoyed camping and watching the NMSU Aggies football team. He won the Recognition Award of 2008 with Silver San Juan Division of the National Model Railroad Association and was also a member of the San Juan Valley Model Railroad Club. Jim was a sports writer for the Daily Times, The El Paso Herald Post and the Cortez Journal, his last assignment was with Nott LTD. He was preceded in death by his father; Jim is survived by his wife Tricia Thomas of 31 years. Daughter, Jennifer Rowland (Jimmy); Mother, Elizabeth Thomas; Brother, William"Bill" Thomas (Barbara Rauber); His beloved Mocha, Sammy, Alley and Neven. The family requests flowers and or donations are made to Regional Animal Shelter; check may be made out to: City of Farmington Regional Animal Shelter, 901 Fairgrounds, Farmington, New Mexico 87401.
