James A. Lemons

Lemons, James A.
Age, 98 passed away January 2, 2017 has moved on to his next adventure. He was born  in August 29, 1918, in Arkansas to Clark and Ruth (Bush)Lemons.  James had two brothers and two sisters.  He served in Papua, New Guinea during World War ll, where he fought in the Pacific Rim, with the 6th Infantry Division.  The Division set a record of 78 straight days in combat against the Japanese on Luzon.  Upon returning, in 1946 he married O’Dene Cogdell and moved to Albuquerque, NM. Where he became a plumber with the Local Union 412 and retired in 1982.  He is survived by his two daughters; Betty Everall husband Gary; Jamie Broughton and husband Dan, both of Rio Rancho, NM;  grandchildren; Deardra Everall, Damion Broughton of Rio Rancho, NM and Dametri Broughton of Bernalillo, NM;  great grandchildren, Andrew Broughton and Dene Broughton of Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment will take place at the  Santa Fe National Cemetery on May 19 at 1:30pm. To view information or leave a condolence, please visit www.danielsfuneral.com
