James Paul "Jimmy" "Da" Duran
Born January 15, 1936, passed away peacefully, after a prolonged illness, on April 26, 2024, with his wife, by his side.
Jimmy was a soft spoken, gentle soul who was lovingly devoted to family and friends. Jimmy worked at Aeroparts Manufacturing as a quality control inspector for many years. Jimmy loved to joke, sing, play guitar, bowling and camping with family and friends.
He loved playing games with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He loved to show them how to dismantle his thumbs or how to twiddle his thumbs. Da always made time to read to his great-grandchildren. He read to them as babies. Both Payton and Taylor learned so much from just reading that it led them to being very successful in school. Both boys are excellent readers because Da always made time to read with them.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, C.R. and Flora Duran; sister, Viola Duran; brothers, Donald, Leroy and Robert Duran. Jimmy is survived by spouse, Ruth Duran; daughter, Dianne R. Sandoval (Charlie); grandchildren, Carlos Sandoval (Angelina) and children Carlos and Destinee Zamaripa, Angela Sandoval Shafer (Jason) and children Payton Sandoval in the UK and Taylor Shafer. Sister, Marguerite Babcock, brothers in law, Leo Rios (Billie), Fred Rios (Janice) and many, many nieces and nephews.
