James William Pelner

With heavy heart, we announce that James “Jim” William Pelner, 75, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023.  Jim was born June 14, 1948 in Sheboygan, WI to Ernest and Mary Elizabeth (Lowe) Pelner.  Jim graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1967 and went on to obtain his BA from Lakeland College in 1971.  He married Rene (Taylor) on October 23, 1970 at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan, WI.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rene, son Jim Pelner (Jenny) of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Michelle Pelner (Joe) of Rio Rancho, NM, granddaughter, Ashley Pelner, of Rio Rancho, NM, and brother-in-law, Paul Taylor (Pat) of Phoenix, AZ.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Pelner and Mary Elizabeth Pelner, as well as his brother, Robert Pelner.

Jim dedicated his professional career to Citizens Bank/First Interstate Bank (24 years), Shopko (7 years), and finally Intel (7 years) before retiring.  His hobbies included fly-fishing, volunteering, and photography.  Jim was a member of the Kiwanis Club as well as Trout in the Classroom.  Jim devoted his time to his family, Thresholds mentorship program, as well as being a long-time member of the Church of the Incarnation.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  There will be a private Celebration of Life with the date and time to be determined by the family.
