PETERS - James Dean Peters, 67, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2009. He was born on September 23, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce I. Grady and Leslie E.S. Peters. He is survived by his loving wife, Susanne F. Peters; son, James S. Peters of Tuscan, AZ; step-sons Michael Gorman and wife, Patricia of Willow Creek, CA, and David Gorman and wife, Julia of Upland, CA; brothers Gary Peters and wife, Sonia of Warsaw, MO, Scott Peters and wife, Marti Ann, Jay Peters and wife, Pamela all of Albuquerque, NM; brothers-in-law, Paul John Bauer of Albuquerque, NM, Steve Bauer and wife, Mitzi of Portland, OR, Peter Bauer and wife, Suzanne of Corvallis, OR.; nieces, Heather Garcia, Kristi Lynn Brown; nephew, Jason Peters; grandchildren, Matthew, Laura, Kayla, Sean, and Siena Gorman. James attended school in Santa Fe, and Albuquerque, graduating from Highland High School in 1961. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, earning a Bronze Star. James earned the rank of Eagle Scout during high school. He worked as a Facilities Tech at EMCORE in Albuquerque. Thank you to all his family, friends, and co-workers at EMCORE, and Presbyterian Hospice who have supported Jim during his battle with cancer. James loved his family, friends, dogs, and especially loved planting trees at his farm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be offered to Mazano High School Special Olympics, or plant a tree in his memory.
