Pressley, James Roy
Born Dec. 31, 1939 in Haywood County, N.C. passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the age of 75. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle; mother, Parthynia; sister, Martha Bradley; brother, David. He spent an idyllic childhood in the Smokey Mountains. He served as a US Marine, a CIA employee, and an analyst for the DEA and US Customs Enforcement. During an assignment in Germany he met his future wife, Carol, with whom he shared almost 48 years. He was most proud of his family. Jim is survived by his loving wife, and children, Rebecca (Brian) Cummings and Matthew (Johnna) Pressley. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Ava, Jamin, Kayla, Naomi, Maleah, and Anna Mae; as well as sister-in-law Geneva Pressley, brother-in-law Carl Bradley, nieces, nephews and cousins. An avid hunter, fisherman, soccer coach and youth mentor he enjoyed all aspects of life, especially his many treasured friendships near and far. In 2011 he handwrote, and published his memoirs, “Forks of the Pigeon” for his grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, 2532 Vermont St NE.
