SWEETEN, James Henry Jr.
Age 76, resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away on Saturday December 03, 2011. Jim was born in Memphis, TN on September 14, 1935. He was the eldest son of James and Sue Renfro Sweeten: Children; Ronald, James, Jovita and Eleanor survive him. He lived in Chicago and suburbs for 56 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War 1952 through 1955. After he returned from Korea, he worked with his father in the dining industry then moved on to the roofing construction. He retired to New Mexico with his best friend, wife Mil so they could enjoy the ever present sunshine and stunning mountain range. Jim worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental in Albuquerque with many beloved friends. The freedom of traveling around beautiful New Mexico gave him great satisfaction and energy. Jim was a take-charge guy whose leadership ability was well used wherever he went. He loved practicing random acts of kindness all day every day for all he came in contact with. Everyone who knew him was cheered by his "up style and words of encouragement AND doughnuts. He leaves his cherished wife, Mil of 44 years; brother in-law, Authur Herman; niece, Marie Franqui; nephew, John Herman and their families as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ronald and Bianca Sweeten and family. He will truly be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
