Jane Ann Bennett

October 22, 1947 — November 11, 2015

Jane Ann Bennett, 68
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Jane Ann Bennett, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.
She was born October 22, 1947, in Hartford City, IN, to the late Thomas and Blanche (Confer) Bennett.
Jane graduated from Hartford City High School in 1965. She then attended Indiana State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1970. Jane relocated to New Mexico shortly after getting her degree and was employed as a paralegal by the Gilman Law Firm, the Law Offices of Feferman & Warren, and several other local attorneys in the Albuquerque area for over 30 years. She also had experience in teaching, educational finance and journalism.
Jane especially enjoyed traveling. She also loved spending time with her family in Indiana, enjoying the companionship of her family of friends in New Mexico, camping and hiking in the Jemez Mountains, hot-air ballooning, and living in the desert Southwest climate. Jane was a very artistically creative person. She had a wonderful eye for how things should go together, whether it was a flower arrangement, furniture, clothing, a photograph composition, or a legal presentation. One of the many ways that she expressed this gift was in Calligraphy. She was also an avid reader. She read novels, of course, but she also read about anything else that interested her, such as Native American culture, archaeology, architecture, fashion, interior decorating, history, legal issues, and technology.
Jane is survived by her brother, William (Diana) Bennett of Millersburg, IN, her sister, Janet (Ron) Yadon of Hartford City, IN, her nephew, JT (Kelly)Yadon of Otterbein, IN, her great nephews and nieces, Clay Yadon, Kinlyn Yadon, Makenna Yadon and Cale Yadon, uncle, Kenny Kravis of Hartford City, friends, Rick and Ida Sanchez, Robert and Sally Lupton, Alfonse and Marie Gallion, Marianne Granoff and Michael Wheeler, Ken and Cyndonna King all of Albuquerque, NM, as well as many people she came to know through her profession.
A Memorial Service was at 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the funeral home.  A second informal memorial will be held in Albuquerque in mid-January.  Contact Marianne for details.
