Jane M. Smith, Age 94, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016. She was born in Passaic, NJ on July 15, 1921, to Jess and Robert MacGuffie.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Smith; sisters, Dr. Bobby MacGuffie and Ann King.
Jane is survived by daughter, Heidi Prince; son-in-law Michael Prince; granddaughter, Jennifer; grandson, Joseph; and great grandsons, Timothy Smelser, Hayden Smelser and Mason Prince.
Jane earned her BA from Bennett College. She worked as a clothing buyer in New York City for 10 years. Jane moved to New Mexico in 1987, and chose to volunteer at The Storehouse In Albuquerque for 17 years managing the back room for clothing and toys. Jane's hobby was being an artist.She loved to paint.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2016, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel, One University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87131.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Jane's honor to the Storehouse, PO Box 94810, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87199 and Animal Humane, https://animalhumanenm.org.
