Janet Guerrette, a 30-year resident of Austin, TX, died peacefully on December 31, 2023. She is succeeded in life by her husband of 50 years, George Guerrette; their daughter Judy Monson; son- in-law, Todd Monson; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Madison. Janet’s brother, Han Su, and her nephew, Dae Up, flew all the way from Korea to be present during her last days and to represent her large extended family who know and love her from the other side of the globe. Additionally, Janet’s loving brother-in-laws: Arthur Guerrette (and wife, Teresa); Michael Guerrette; and sister-in-law, Louise Oliver traveled hundreds of miles to spend time with Janet months before her passing. The memories created during this time are deeply treasured.
Janet was a devoted wife and doting grandmother. Throughout her life, Janet was very giving and generous to her family. She was passionate about cooking and gardening, where much of her creativity found expression. Janet was also very talented at sewing. She could see a dress or something in a department store, know what materials were used and needed, and she could then replicate the same pattern at home. Janet was talented and meticulous. Those who knew her described her as delightful, funny, and kind.
The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the Brio Assisted Living Facility and Ambercare Hospice of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
