Janet Eillene Harper

HARPER - With great sadness the family of Janet Eillene Harper announces her passing on Monday, May 25, 2009. A native of Albuquerque, Janet passed peacefully in her sleep at home at the age of 74 after surviving Alzheimer's for the past 10 years. Janet attended UNM and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She was very active in her church and known as an advocate and a leader in Marriage Encounter for many years. Janet was the daughter of James and Edith Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James C. Harper; her brother James Thompson (Donna); her sons, Rick Harper (Chris), Steve Harper (Kathy) and her daughters, Sheri Sullivan (Scott), Debbie Telles (Adolpho); her grandchildren, Danielle and Casey Harper, Zach and Josh Harper, Nick and Michelle Sullivan, Christopher, Patrick, Patricia and Art Telles and Liana Ortega. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), of which both Janet and Jim volunteered many hours.
