Janet "Jan" Elaine Medas

Janet "Jan" Elaine Medas, age 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on August 16, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Janet was born on April 5, 1952 in Fall River, Massachusetts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Theresa Sevigny and brother, Richard Sevigny. Jan is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John "Jay" G. Medas III; daughters, Jennifer Bedard, Teri Hepker and husband James, Sheri Beard and husband Beaux; grandchildren, James Hepker, Jr., Lexi Hepker, and Logan Beard; sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many cousins scattered throughout the United States.

 
Jan led a very exciting life. She traveled with her husband while he was in the Air Force. While Jan and Jay originally retired in Massachusetts, they moved to New Mexico to be near their daughters and the grandchildren they knew were coming in 2006. Jan dedicated her life to loving and caring for others, especially her grandchildren. She often said that her grandchildren were what kept her going. Janet will be greatly missed by her many friends and loved ones. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Sara Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Rd., SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, where Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m.
