On December 13, 2024, our beautiful mother Janet Sue Stewart McKim went to be with her Lord, and now she is in heaven with no more pain or dementia. She is drinking an icy Pepsi at a beautiful reunion with her parents, her beloved brother, and a dearly loved orange kitty.
Janet Sue Stewart McKim was born in Hackensack, NJ, on June 28, 1931, to Avis Leva Ervin Stewart and Louis Gray Stewart. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved younger brother, Louis G Stewart Jr. She is survived by her six children, Sharon (Alfred) Walker, Elizabeth (Don) Sparks, Alison (Gregg) Jones, Gregory McKim, and Douglas (Kathy) McKim, and Julie (Joe) Hudson). Janet was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was proud to have lived in Gallup, New Mexico, for 65 years, and for many of them, was an elementary school teacher at Jefferson and Twin Lakes Elementary Schools. An avid reader and expert at knitting and embroidery, she spent much of her time faithfully rooting for the Cubs, even in their most dismal seasons. She was a devout Roman Catholic.
We are so grateful for the blessing of having her as our mom for 93 years, and for our beautiful family which is her most precious legacy. Sweet dreams, Mama. We will do our best to carry on. ❤️
