Janie Irene Brashear

JANIE IRENE BRASHEAR, 79, a Farmington resident since 1967 went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Life Care Center in Farmington. Janie was born March 6, 1930 in Brownfield , Texas and attended Brownfield Schools and later graduated from Brownfield High School . Janie met and married the love of her life Glynn M. Brashear on May 1, 1948 in Brownfield. She was employed with the US Postal Service for over 28 years and later retired. Janie hobbies were needlework, ham radio, crossword puzzles, and reading. Janie was also known as mom, sister, grandma, grandma great, and grandma grapes. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her son Andrew K. Brashear and wife Barbara of Aztec; daughters Mary N. McKnight and husband Jimmy of Bloomfield and Jan Brashear of Farmington ; sister Louise Killingsworth-Harrod of Lovington , NM ; brother William Keith Mason and wife Dorothy of Irving, TX; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Janie was preceded in death by her parents Yancey Mason and Grace Norwood Mason, husband Glynn M. Brashear, brothers Ervin Mason, Bob Mason and twin brother Eugene Mason. Friends may call Friday, March 27, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 East Ute St. in Farmington . Pallbearers are Joshua Brashear, Lee McKnight, Jeremy McKnight, Jimmy Hodges, Julius Ledesma, Jeff Denny and Rhett Mora. Honorary pallbearers are the Totah Amateur Radio Club. The family wishes to thank Life Care for their wonderful care of our Mom - administration staff, nursing staff, therapy staff especially her dear friend Cindamin.
