Jared Daniel Szalay

SZALAY- Jared Daniel Szalay, 20, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Jared’s life was so very precious and graciously saved three lives through the gift of organ donation when he passed away. Jared was born on July 3, 1990 in Las Cruces, NM to Lori Magee and Frank Szalay. He had lived in Albuquerque, NM, Las Cruces, NM, Portland, OR and Maynooth, IA. He attended Cibola High School in Albuquerque, NM and graduated in 2008 from Mayfield High School in Las Cruces, NM. Currently, he was attending classes at CNM and wanted to complete his education at UNM. Jared enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowboarding, hanging out with his friends and had recently taken up the sport of golf. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Magee, and uncle, Brian Magee, both of Bloomfield, NM. Jared is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Lori Magee and her partner, Mike Buck, of Albuquerque, NM; his father, Frank Szalay and his wife, Kerry, of Las Cruces, NM; grandparents, Avon Magee, Tom Szalay, and Elaine Socolofsky-Szalay; uncle, Brad Magee and his wife, Marcia; aunt, Laura Szalay; great-aunt, Jeanne Gholson; cousins, Kayla Magee, Kellie Magee, and Katie Wooten; and numerous cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PMon Saturday, February 5, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, with Pastor Jesse Lusko, officiating.
