Jean Cynova

Jean Cynova of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, daughter of the late Charles and Lula Mae Johnson, quietly died in her sleep on July 15, 2023.  She is survived by brother, Greg of Redlands, CA; sister, Mary of La Mesa, CA;  son, Tom of Afton, WY; daughter, Debbie of Rio Rancho, NM; 6 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. 

Jean was born in Stamps, AR and grew up in central NM.   She lived in the family home of her father, a highway engineer, in Aztec, NM and married Alvin Cynova of Flora Vista, NM in 1946.  As a stay at home mother who doted on her two children, she was highly supportive of all their activities, including sports and theater, as they moved first to Shiprock, NM in 1957, and then to Soda Springs, Idaho in 1963.  A woman of faith, she was active in her church and eventually worked as a loan officer at Idaho 1^st National bank.  She and Alvin enjoyed traveling around to see family in the USA and Europe.  She liked fishing and golfing and playing cards with Alvin.  She also enjoyed her days of golfing and bridge with her many girlfriends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, and one sister.  She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM where the funeral Mass will be held on July 28^th at 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary prior to the Mass beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Reception to follow.
