Jean M Hines

Jean M. Hines, 76, died April 7, 2011, with her family by her side in Farmington, NM. Jean was born November 15, 1934, in Braintree, Essex, England to Fredrick & Jennie Fitch. Jean attended nursing school while in England. Jean moved to the USA in 1969 and supported her family as a single dedicated mother working as a waitress at the NCO Club and the AMFAC Hotel. Upon retirement she began working at Learning Is Fun. Jean’s interests included family, gardening, and reading. She devoted much of her time to her family. She was considered Mum to all who knew her. Jean is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Romero-Sanchez and husband Raul, sons, Kim Hines and wife Rosemarie, Kevin Goins and wife Stacy, Joseph Smith and Jonathan Hill and wife Loretta, daughter-in-law Annemarie Hill, special friend Susan Whiteley and 22 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Jean is also survived by her sister Olive Turner and husband Maurice of Colchester, England. She was preceded in death by her son, Officer Jason R. Hill and her parents, Fredrick and Jeannie Fitch. The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to the staff at San Juan Regional Medical Center and Farmington Fire Department. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army in Jean’s name.
