Jean Wise, a long time resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico died peacefully on May 8, 2016 at the age of 94.
Born January 31, 1922 in Toledo, OH Jean received her Degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 1943 and then joined the Army. Jean served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Forces during WWII as an Army Nurse Corp with the 123rd Army Hospital in England. During her service, Jean married her husband Virgil Wise on May 14, 1945 in Herefordshire, England.
Jean spent her career as an intensive care nurse in Toledo and Albuquerque until her retirement; she received many awards for her work during that time. She coordinated and participated in the Senior Olympics in New Mexico where she won many medals. She enjoyed swimming, dancing, sewing, crafting, spending time with her family and staying active.
Her parents Barney and Helen Hein, her husband Virgil Wise, brother Dr. Ned Hein and sister Lorene Cameron precede Jean in death. She is survived by her sister Marilyn (Mimi) Skinner, brother Barney Hein, her six children Forrest (Terry) Wise, Virgil Wise, James (Jim) Wise, Wendy Wise, Gary Wise, John Wise and their families.
Memorial services for Jean will be held on June 21, 2016 at Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
