Jeanette B. Voorhees

VOORHEES- Jeanette B. Voorhees, Age 80, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, March 13, 2011. Jeanette was born August 11, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Jeanette Borgersen. Jeanette was a resident of Los Alamos for 27 years, Las Cruces, and most recently a resident of Brookdale in Albuquerque, NM. She enjoyed traveling and loved her four legged friend Bergen. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Voorhees of 21 years; and step son, Bruce Voorhees. Jeanette is survived by her loving children, Barbara Tegtmeier, John Tegtmeier and wife Kay, Linda Tegtmeier Eason and husband Steven, Phillip Tegtmeier and wife Alessandra, Janet Smith; stepchildren, Betsy Christensen and husband Dana, Ron Voorhees and wife Karen; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends. Jeanette will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Visitation will take place at Christ United Methodist Church, 6200 Gibson SE, Albuquerque, NM, Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00 a.m.; Interment at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM., at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanette’s honor to your local Animal Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
