Jeanne Gacanich

Gacanich, Jeanne 63 of Socorro, NM passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12th 2021, surrounded by her loving family.  Jeanne was born in Socorro, NM on December 28, 1957 to Fabian and Vidal Romero. She married Larry Gacanich and together they raised six children, Larry Gacanich Jr. (wife, Cassandra), John Gacanich (wife, Deborah), Amber Gacanich, Mileva Gacanich, Mirjana Gacanich, and Dushan Gacanich.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 37 years, Larry. She is survived by her children; her sisters and brothers, Patricia D. Iley of Los Lunas; Lilly Evitt (husband, Jim) of Polvadera; Moises Romero (wife, Diana) of Lemitar; Rosa Anna Jones of Albuquerque; and Fabian Romero Jr. of Socorro. 

Jeanne was co-founder of Cottonwood Valley Charter School, who strived to provide a better education for the Socorro community, overcoming the countless hurdles to make the school a reality. The Rosary/Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. on May 21, 2021 and burial following at La Sagrada Familia in Lemitar, New Mexico.  To view information or leave a condolence, Jeanne's care has been entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 309 Garfield St Socorro, NM 87801 575-835-1530
