Jeffrey Dwayne Garcia

Jeffrey Dwayne Garcia, age 63, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.   He was born March 16, 1960, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to James Garcia and Viola Archuleta Garcia.  He was a graduate of West Mesa High School, Class of 1978.   He attended the University of New Mexico, where he studied Music.  He was an All-American Tuba player and traveled throughout Europe.  He married the love of his life, Valerie Wood on July 20, 1991, in Albuquerque, NM.  Jeff was an Assistant Softball Coach for 14 years and was employed by Citibank for 18 years.  He was successful at whatever he wanted to learn.  He made friends very easily, wherever he was.  He loved his family and was so very proud of his children.  Jeff was excited to be a grandpa and loved spending time with his family.  Jeff was very passionate about sports and even more so when he could coach.  He was genuinely a really nice guy.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Garcia.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Valerie Garcia of Rio Rancho, NM; son’s, Mark Ross of Albuquerque, NM, Michael Ross of Albuquerque, NM, Jacob Garcia of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter’s, Shannon Garcia of Rio Rancho and Jessie Garcia of Rio Rancho; mother, Viola Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Karen Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Maddox Ross, Mason Ross, Tristan Lucero and Jordan Garcia; and pets, Parker, Mabel, Ana and Scooby.

Services will begin with Recitation of the Rosary, Thursday, February 22, 2024, 10:00 AM, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM.   Burial will take place at 12:00 PM, Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Reception will follow burial.
