Jennie Benally

Funeral services for Jennie M. Benally, 82, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at Cope Memorial Chapel, Gallup. Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Tohatchi Community Cemetery, Tohatchi. Benally died Nov. 28, 2010, in Gallup. She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Haystack, into the Towering House People Clan for the Meadow People Clan. Benally’s hobbies included rug weaving, tending to sheep, planting corn, squash, beans, vegetables, playing cards and spending time with grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Benny Benally, Lee Benally, Albert Benally, Roscoe Benally; daughter, Roberta Etsitty; 27 grandchildren. Benally was preceded in death by her husband, John Benally; parents, Jim and Mary Mariano; brothers, Sam Mariano, Frank Mariano, Clarence Mariano; daughters, Florence Barney, Mae Fern Etsitty, Emma Becenti. Pallbearers will be Ernie Hawthorne, George Soce Jr., Kendall Miller, Randall Miller, Larry Cisco, Bennie Cisco.
