28, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014. He was born in Socorro, NM on January 10, 1986 to Kenny Stapleton and Irene Anaya. Jerod was a lifelong resident of Socorro. He was always happy and he had a smile that everyone will always remember. Jerod was very outgoing. He enjoyed restoring old cars, boxing and he loved his "Oldies but Goodies" music. Jerod was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. More than anything in this world, Jerod loved his little boys with all of his heart and was so proud of them. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Alice Stapleton; great grandma, Anna Maria Gonzales; aunt, Lisa Anaya; great uncle, Julian Anaya; and his mother's husband, Robert Romo. Jerod is survived by his loving mother, Irene Anaya; his father, Kenny Stapleton; step father, David Lopez; grandpa, David Anaya Sr.; grandma, Gloria Lucero; and his devoted fiancé of 2 years, Destinee Chavez. Jerod leaves behind his pride and joys, his boys, Jerrick Joshua and Jordan Joseph Stapleton, and step son, Alejandro Giron. Jerod will live on in the hearts of his siblings, Destanee Lopez; and Ashley and Brandon Romero; aunts, Nadine Chavez and husband, Paul; Tanya Anaya and partner, Kevin Edwards; and Jazmine White; uncles, David Anaya Jr; and Andy Anaya; and many other loving family members, cousins, and close friends. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 8:30 am followed by the Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 9:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro. Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are David Anaya Jr, Randall Chavez, Melecio Gonzales, Eddie Vargas, Andy Anaya, and Mike Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Stapleton, David Anaya Sr., David Lopez, David Anaya III, Carlos Anaya, Dylan Edwards, Kevin Edwards, and Adrian Anaya.
