Jerome Anthony Bartyzel (Jerry)

Jerry was born to Edmond J. Bartyzel and Sadie Bartyzel in Amsterdam, NY.

He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Sadie, brother, Edmond C. Bartyzel and his son, Eric J. Linton.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Bartyzel (Ame). Jerry and Ame were married 10/11/1975.

Children: Daniel J. Bartyzel, Lisa J. Jaramillo, April Wells and husband Rick, Robyn Nichols, Tony Linton and wife Becky, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved and adored.

Jerry served four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1970.  He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran during the TET Offensive of 1968.

He moved from New York to Richmond, CA in 1944, where he grew up. He attended the University of California Berkeley.

He started out working at the California State Health Lab as a Lab Technician in the virology lab.  In 1978 he moved to Albuquerque, NM. He then worked for UNM as a Technician in the virology lab and in 1998 he joined the merger when Tricore Laboratories was formed.

He was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was gentle, kind, compassionate and very intelligent. He took pride in his military service with the Air Force and had a great love for his country that he passed along to his children and grandchildren, as well as his faith in the Lord.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 8th at Daniels Family Funeral Services ~ Wyoming Chapel at 11:00am.
