Turtle, Jessie Lee (Swaim) Born February 15, 1940 passed away on November 17, 2013. Jessie was born in Buchanan Michigan to Lenzy and LeOna (Stowers) Swaim. Jessie was the youngest of 8 children. Jessie married James (Jim) Turtle December 21, 1957. Jim was in the Air Force for 27 years and because of this Jessie was able to see the world with him, except on his tour of Viet Nam in 1968 and 1969. Their travels took them to live in Conway, SC, where Jamie was born, Myrtle Beach, SC, where Tammy was born, Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal, where Cindy was born on her 21st birthday! They also lived in Dover, DE, Wichita Falls, TX, San Antonio, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Wiesbaden, West Germany and Del City, OK. After retirement from the Air Force and Civil Service dad took mom to Holiday, FL where they bought a place on the lake to live out their retirement. Unfortunately, life took a turn in 2009 when the kids noticed some changes in the parents, and this caused an intervention. Basically we kidnapped our parents and brought them closer to us where Jessie lived out her final years. Jessie is survived by her husband, James (Jim); children, Jamie & Jill Turtle, Tammy Tackett, Cindy & Mark Sawyer; grandchildren, Christie, Caitlyn, Alexandra, Lenzy, Lauren, Thomas (TJ) James; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Emma, Jaxson. A special thanks to caregivers at Atria Vista Del Rio, Northridge Alzheimers Care Center, and Molly Gallegos for her kindness.
