Romero , Jim V
72, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on September 22, 1942. His parents are Santiago and Margarita (Vigil) Romero. Jim graduated from Socorro High School and then joined the United States Marines. He proudly served for four years during the Vietnam Conflict. After his Honorable discharge, Jim attended the University of New Mexico where he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Jim returned to Lemitar in 1975 and was the Adult Parole Officer for Socorro County before his retirement. He continued working as a court bailiff. Jim enjoyed watching Rodeo. He was a simple man and loved his family and friends very much. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents. Jim is survived by his sister, Dolores Romero and husband, Rosalio; his niece and nephews, and close friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00am at La Sagrada Familia Church in Lemitar with Deacon Mike Ybarra. The Inurnment will take place in the Lemitar Cemetery immediately following the service.
