Jimmie N. Blake

In loving memory of the late Jimmie N. Blake, a man whose journey through life touched the hearts of many in profound ways. Jimmie was born on January 26, 1938, in Houston, Texas, to his beloved parents Elbert Osborn Blake and Gladys Nealy Blake. He peacefully departed from this world on July 13, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Jimmie led a remarkable life filled with courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment. After graduating from Aldine High School in Houston, Texas, he embarked on a distinguished career path that included serving his country with valor in the US Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice during seven years of service earned him the distinguished rank of SP4, E-4. Jimmie's exceptional marksmanship skills led to his commendation as a sharpshooter with the rifle.

Throughout his professional journey, Jimmie dedicated 21 years to long-haul truck driving for JB Hunt and Continental Express. His passion for the open road and unwavering work ethic left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A man of integrity and honor, Jimmie now leaves behind cherished memories that will be forever treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving son, Joseph I. Blake of Witt Spring, AR; as well as his dear brother Donald Russell Blake of Somerville, TX; and sister Ida Louise Sullivan of Montgomery, TX.

In a heartwarming reunion beyond this life, Jimmie is now peacefully reunited with his parents Elbert Osborn Blake and Gladys Nealy Blake, along with his brother Elbert Olen Blake and sister Patsy Ruth Buntion.

Memorial services to celebrate Jimmie's life will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Road Chapel in Rio Rancho on July 23, 2024. The Memorial Service will commence at 10:00 AM followed by a Graveside Service at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 1:00 PM.
