Baca, Jimmie C. 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born in San Antonio, NM on August 18, 1932 to Santiago and Pauline (Zimmerly) Baca. Jimmie was a life long resident of Socorro. He was a devoted member of San Miguel Catholic Church. As a young man, Jimmie attended New Mexico State, where he majored in music and was a member of the New Mexico State Jazz Band. Then in 1953, Jimmie was called to proudly serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service, he was a self taught contractor and owned and operated JC Construction until he retired. Jimmie was a master furniture designer and builder. He was a perfectionist and so gifted. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Joseph J. Baca; his brother, Estevan C. Baca; his sister, Frances Baca; and his son-in-law, Rick Miller. Jimmie is survived by his beloved Prescilla Baca; his devoted daughter, Brenda Miller; his granddaughter, Lynette Miller; his great grandson, Stephen Perozek, and a great granddaughter on the way, Janis Marie Perozek; his sisters, Judy Vaiza and husband, Preciliano "Shorty"; and Josie Visocky and husband, Adrian; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members and dear friends.
