Jimmy Fred Reeves

Jimmy Fred Reeves joined his beloved wife in heaven on Sunday June 24, 2018. Jimmy was born in Dermott, Arkansas on January 13, 1957. He served in the US Air Force for 12 years then settled in Rio Rancho NM. He is survived by two brothers, five children and nine grandchildren. 

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years Julia Reeves from Rio Rancho, NM. His parents Freddie and Jeweldean Reeves and his brother, Michael Lynn Reeves from Dyess, Arkansas.

He is survived by his two younger brothers David Reeves from Marked Tree, Arkansas and Danny Reeves from England, Arkansas. Daughter Stephanie Dunlap and daughter Courtney from Wilson, Arkansas. Daughter Frances Chavez, husband Andres Sedillo and children AJ, Julianna, Antonio and Emma from Albuquerque, NM. Daughter Jessica Chavez, husband Mario Gonzales and children Selena Arroyos and Adrian Gonzales of Rio Rancho, NM. Son Dirk Reeves, wife Jessica their two sons Connor and Collin from Wilson, Arkansas and Son James Reeves of Rio Rancho, NM.

Jimmy Fred Reeves was born January 13, 1957 in Dermott, Arkansas.  He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1978 and served for 12 years after which settling in Rio Rancho NM.  He married the love of his life, Julia Reeves in Las Vegas Nevada in August of 1990. Jimmy worked for several years at Centex in Bernalillo, NM. He enjoyed fishing, cooking especially barbequing or smoking meat. He like going to the Casino to play cards, craps and roulette and sometimes their seafood buffet for their snow crab legs. He often sought out country style restaurants like Murphy’s Mule Barn that reminded him of back home. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s Fan and never missed a game. He loved watching old western movies and could often be found in the garage tinkering with things. He will forever be in our hearts.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; with a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Southern Chapel, 2400 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
