Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, JIMMY B. THURSTONSON, 81, of Bloomfield passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Life Care Center of Farmington. Jimmy was born June 19, 1928 in Marnel, Colorado the son of Ole Thurstonson and Rachael May (Schell) Thurstonson. Jimmy moved to Flora Vista in 1938. Later he graduated from Aztec High School and met and married his sweetheart Nora McReynolds in 1958 in Durango, Colorado. Jimmy was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for over 26 years as a Production Technician. He also served his country in the US Army for over 3 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant and received an honorable discharge for his service. He also received the Army of Occupations Medal while stationed in Germany. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, sports, farming and especially working in his apple orchard. He was a great husband, father and grandfather and great-grandfather to a strong and loving family. Jimmy will be truly missed by all his family and friends. God bless you till we meet again! Jimmy is survived by his wife Nora Thurstonson, sons John Thurstonson and wife Lori and Tom Thurstonson and wife Kristina; daughters Karen Martinez and husband Casey, Patty Brown and husband Paul and Lori Van Ryan and husband Vance; his brother Dick Thurstonson and wife Arline; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whom he loved and adored and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Ole and Rachel Thurstonson, brothers John Thurstonson and Frances Thurstonson and sisters Edith Finley and Enga Chiaramonte. Pallbearers are Casey Lee Martinez, Rebecca Swarts, Jason Swarts, Vance Van Ryan, Paul Brown, Ryan Thurstonson and Jeremy Brown. Honorary pallbearers are John Thurstonson and Tom Thurstonson, Casey Martinez and Dick Thurstonson.
