Joan L. Emery

Emery, Joan L. Age 84, died peacefully in her sleep July 11,2014. She was born May 13,1930 in Valley City, North Dakota to R.K. McFarland and Ellen Brolander McFarland. She graduated from Albuquerque High in 1948 and then went on to get her nursing degree in North Dakota in 1951. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl B. Emery, her parents, and sisters Barbara Bumkens and Judith George. She is survived by her sons , Mark and his partner Viviane Renard, Steven and wife Julie Doak-Emery, Paul and daughter Stacy Joan, Robert "Tony" and his wife Maureen,and life long friend Lorena S. Knight. She loved to fish and was an avid golfer. She was also a breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Association or The Cancer Society. Services to be announced at a later date. Internment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 9:45 am.
