Joan Frances Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald- Joan Frances, passed away on April 27, 2009. She was born on January 7, 1933 to Joe and Lenora Saporito and she grew up in Columbus, Kansas. She graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, with a B.S. and Master's Degree in Business Education. She taught high school in Junction City and Manhatten, Kansas, where she married her husband on September 25, 1954. The Fitzgerald's moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they owned and operated a small animal veterinary hospital, Blue Cross Animal Clinic, for 35 years before retiring in 1992. Joan was a member of Central Methodist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joan is survived by her loving husband Dr. Donald Wayne Fitzgerald; son Steven Wayne Fitzgerald, his wife Mimi and their children, Max, Zachary and Amy of Highland Park, Illinois; son Bryan Wayne Fitzgerald, his wife Cindy and their children, Nicholas, Aaron, Sean and Andrew of Highland Village, Texas; and sister, Mary Ann Cowley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
