Obit for Joan White
For Albuquerque Journal- Run Dates: Thursday, October 4, 2012 and Friday, October 5, 2012 White, Joan Muriel Joan M. White entered into rest Thursday, September 27, 2012. Joan was born April 10, 1926, in Bronx, New York, to Madeline and Gorham Gensch. A resident of New Mexico since 1957, Joan lived life to its fullest and was an avid artist and won many ribbons for her art work at the New Mexico State Fair. She worked many years for the Lovelace Medical Center and served on the Lovelace Senior Board well past her retirement. Joan is survived by her daughters, Judy and husband Tommy Southard, Linda and husband Hugh T. McKeon and Sandra and husband Rusty Southard as well as six grandchildren, Scott, John and Billy Southard, Valerie and HT McKeon and Alex Winter as well as 14 great-grandchildren. Joan is also survived by her nieces, Barbara Jean, Diane, Joyce Knipfing, Beth Royer and her nephew, Dick Knifping. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dolores. Her family wishes to thank the Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque where she has lived for the last year. Services will be held at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, on Friday, October 5, with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. and a reception to follow. A funeral mass in Joan''s memory will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimer''s Association of New Mexico.
