JoAnna "JoAnn" L. Montano, age 76, entered into Eternal peace on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at her home while surrounded by her loving family and friends. JoAnn was born on September 21, 1937and was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Lovato of Bernalillo, NM, (owners of the Lovato's Drug Store). Joann married the late Benito Montano in February 1962 and together they had four sons. She lovingly continued to raise her four boys while working two lifelong jobs at the Bernalillo Public Schools and Bargain Food Basket until her retirement. JoAnn was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Spanish choir. She enjoyed music and singing. Words can't express how loved JoAnn was by her church, community and all those that came into contact with her. She was an instant magnet for great conversation and loving friendship. JoAnn was a very kind soul and had a loving and generous heart, always giving to others. She attended most very event in Bernalillo. We are so blessed to be able to carry on such fond memories and lifelong lessons from such an extraordinary role model as our mother, grandma, and friend. She will be greatly missed, yet we're rejoicing in her return home with her loved ones and reunion with God our Father. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Lovato. JoAnn is survived by her loving sons, Patrick (Victoria) Montano of Albuquerque, Raul (Mai) Montano of Albuquerque, Michael (Yvonne) Montano of Bernalillo, Manuel (Carla) Montano of Bernalillo; her precious grandchildren, Brianna (Giovanni) Herrera, Michael Montano, Patrick (Bubba) Montano, Sophia Montano, Luke Chavez, Nico Montano, Deanna Montano, Bryah Montano, Ethan Montano, Noah Montano, Mia Montano, Jonas Montano, Nathaniel Perea, and Josiah Montano; one great-grandson, Marcus Montano. Also surviving are her sister, Ramona (Dan) Perea of Albuquerque; numerous loving relatives and friends. Visitations will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will be on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. also at the Church, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Montano, Patrick (Bubba) Montano, Luke Chavez, Nico Montano, Ethan Montano, and Noah Montano. Honorary Bearers will be Jonas Montano, Nathaniel Perea and Josiah Montano.
