Jodi Laine Eakins Weed

Weed, Jodi Laine Eakins Age 50, passed away December 7, 2011. She was born on September 26, 1961 in Roswell New Mexico. She was the youngest of 3 girls born to Jim and Millie Eakins. Jodi had hair the color of a copper penny. What red hair she had! We have always been in awe! A joke that her Dad always made was that he had 3 daughters. "A blonde, a brunette and a red head. Jodi achieved a managerial position at the age of 16. After working and living in Roswell, she moved to Brenham, Texas. Where she worked as a dispatcher for the Texas State Police and then for the District Attorney of Brenham Texas. During that time she had a daughter, Jessica. She and Jessica have lived in Albuquerque for the last 9 years, as Jodi and Jessica wanted to be close to family. Jodi has since attended college at CNM and worked on campus. Jodi was, and always has; excelled in her professions. She loved to laugh and saw the best in people. Her daughter Jessica was her pride and joy! Jessica is a good student and has been on the high school swim team since her freshman year and is now a junior. Jodi was a loving and kindhearted woman. We will miss her humorous, sweet and kind personality. We all are grateful to have known her. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Eakins. She is survived by her mother, Millie M. Roberts of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Jessica Ann Weed; sisters, Jamie E. Brudos of Albuquerque, NM, Ruthellen Eakins Sanchez of Corpus Christie, TX; stepbrothers, Mike Roberts and wife Mariann, Chuck Roberts; nieces Gretta Mae Brudos, Lylah Rae Brudos. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 12, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
