Joe Rivera

Rivera, Joe Age 72, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home in Socorro after a lengthy illness. He was born in San Antonio, NM on January 31, 1941, to Nicholas and Romanola (Barreras) Rivera. Joe's passion in life included fishing and his love for horses. He started working on the family ranch at a very young age. Joe was a Team Roper and horse breeder in his time. Joe loved everyone and was greatly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his wife of 21 years, Josie (Gallegos) Rivera; daughter, Ingrid Rivera; son, Joe R. Rivera; step-daughters, Sylvia Ortega and husband, Rudy, Luisa Cocoa and husband, Bob, and Loretta Rivera and husband, Joe; step-sons, Sam Tenorio and Charles Tenorio and wife, Martha; brother, Frank Rivera; sisters, Mary Chavez, Patsy Freeze, and Annie Padilla; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
