Joe A. Vigil

Vigil, Joe A. Age 75, passed away peacefully in his Albuquerque home on February 17, 2013. He was born on April 30, 1937 in Pecos, NM, and was raised in Las Vegas, NM. After serving in the Navy for 4 years, Joe married and moved to Los Alamos, NM where he resided for 32 years. He coached many Little League teams and worked as a letter carrier for the USPS in the Western Area and in White Rock, NM. Joe was an Albuquerque resident for 20 years where he retired and enjoyed working out at Defined Fitness in Taylor Ranch. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Melecio and Juanita Vigil; brothers, Robert Vigil (Susie), Fernando Vigil (Rebecca) and sister, Margaret Rodriguez (Bill). Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years Irene Vigil; children, Ralph Vigil (Victoria), Yolanda Deimling (Jim), Richard Vigil (Andrea), grandchildren, Lona Vigil, Irene Avard (Jesse), Danielle Vigil, Breanna Vigil, Marissa Vigil, Jamie Deimling, Jeffrey Deimling, Jacquelyn Deimling, Jonas Vigil, Tyanna Vigil; great- grandchild, Jackson Avard; step-grandchildren, Adam Vigil, Felicia Vigil; brothers, Victor Vigil (Agnes), Andy Vigil (Gloria), Melecio Vigil, Paul Vigil (Flora), Maurilio Vigil (Alberta), and sister, Lena Ortega. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Daniel's Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming, Albuquerque, NM 87109. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus, 5712 Paradise NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, with a reception to follow in the parish hall.
