Joey Ryan Thrush

We are heartbroken to announce that Joseph “ Joey “  Ryan Thrush, age 33, passed away on September 19, 2022.

Joey was born on May 18, 1989 to Joe and Danielle Thrush in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  After graduating from Del Norte High School in 2007, he pursued his love of football and coached at Sandia and Eldorado High School. He was an outstanding athlete and played football throughout his high school years.  That love for football led him towards his coaching career.  Many coaches and players valued his knowledge and expertise in the sport. Joey played football at Del Norte High School and New Mexico Highlands University. He was also an Educational Assistant for the special needs program. He would often buy his students pizza and other snacks as his way of showing how much he appreciated his students.

His family and friends dearly loved Joey.  He would light up every room, and his sense of humor was contagious.

Joey is survived by the love of his life, his son Kolle Thrush. Mother and father, Joe and Danielle Thrush; siblings Marcus and Samantha Thrush.  Joey also has his grandmother, Virginia Tull, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him very much.

Joey’s beautiful personality and humor will be deeply missed.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 12:00pm. , St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.  Reception to follow at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
