John Edward Allen

Allen, John Edward Age 84, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was born in Live Oak, FL on July 23, 1929. Mr. Allen was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Forces right out of high school in Live Oak, Fla., in 1945. At 17, he was assigned to the 332d Fighter Wing of the Tuskegee Airmen - a group that broke racial barriers in World War II by becoming the first black aviators in the U.S. military. John is survived by his loving wife, Willie Allen of the family home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the New Mexico Veteran Memorial, 1100 Louisiana SE.
