John Bristol passed away peacefully with family at his side on Monday, October 26, 2020. John was born in Des Moines, IA to Robert Bristol and Annabelle Saville. John received his BA from Iowa State University’s School of Landscape Architecture. He then served his country in the U.S. Army for four years including a tour in Vietnam. John’s major work for the federal government was to promote and protect proper recreational use of lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management in the northern part of New Mexico. The influence of his exceptional work will be seen and enjoyed by local citizens and visiting public for many years to come. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Pat; his two children, Phil and Valerie (Paul); his brother Alan (Peggy), brothers-in-law Vincent and Tito, and sister-in-law Virginia and their spouses.
