John Carlton Burrows of Albuquerque died on November 30, 2015.
John enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and golfing. Most of all, he loved, and was dearly loved by, his family, including his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn and their children and grandchildren---Cheryl and Dave Wilson and their children Sarah (and her son Sebastian) and Ellen (and her husband Ryan); Connie and Tim Horton and their children Josh (and his wife Cassie) and Hannah; Cathy and Scott Kiel and their children Steven and Hannah; Les and Monica Burrows and their children Jack and Sabrina.
John was born March 16, 1935 in McLean, Texas to James Dee and Roberta Maudelle Burrows whom preceded him in death. His surviving and much loved siblings include Sue and Morris Day, Wayne and Liz Burrows, Gwen and Walter Berry, and Bobbie and Kwin Quesenberry.
He attended Albuquerque High School and completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at New Mexico State University. He was a member of the ROTC and Army reserves and enjoyed a career in University Housing Administration, spending his final working years at the University of New Mexico.
A man with a good sense of humor, a quiet faith, and a kind and gentle soul, John will be missed by friends and family who are all welcome to attend a Memorial Service and Reception on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Prairie Star Restaurant at the Santa Ana Golf Club, 288 Prairie Star Road, Santa Ana Pueblo.
