John Henry Evans

Evans, John Henry Age 78, a resident of Bernalillo, NM, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012. He was born on July 21, 1934 to the parents of Felton and Ethel Amos (Evans) in Macon, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Felton Evans and mother Ethel Amos (Evans), his son, John Evans; brothers, William Felton Evans and Omar Hason, and sister, Barbara Amos. Having grown up in Macon and after serving in the U.S. Army under the rank of PFC, John (affectionately called "Bubba) moved to Columbus, Ohio where he lived and worked for many years as an auto body collision expert. He later relocated from Columbus to Albuquerque, New Mexico. John was introduced to Jesus Christ as a young man. Many knew him for his creativity and his ability to transform automobiles into masterpieces. He was adventurous and had a humorous, friendly and forthright personality. John was very active and was known to ride his bike at least 2-3 miles a day. Over the past several months, John struggled with failing health issues; however, he had strong determination and faith enabled him to endure the recent health challenges. Those who wished he could have remained include his wife, Henrietta Evans, children: Renee DaValt (Florida), Kevin (Doc) McCleod (Michigan), Brent (Sandra) Harley (Columbus), Elsie Boyet, Alfreida West, Sabrina Brooks, Corey Brooks, Mark Amos (Erin) - whom he raised like a son, 19 grandchildren; also survived by brothers: Alonzo (Sheridan) Amos, Walter (Karen) Amos; sisters: Juanita Walker, Debora (Mel) Branham, Ollie (John) Greenway, Dora Evans; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 7, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
